Elan Valley Wales


The Elan Valley consists of man-made lakes near Rhayader in mid Wales, created from damming the Elan and Claerwen rivers. An area of outstanding beauty, it is also considered one of the best areas in Europe for stargazing. In 2015, the Elan Valley achieved International Dark Sky Park status and the entire 45,000 acre park is now protected against light pollution.
